Checking Product Compatibility
Checking for product compatibility between racks, accessories, and servers includes 5 key factors:
1. Rack Size and Standards
- Rack Type: Ensure your server rack follows the standard. The typical standard for most IT equipment is 19-inch EIA-310.
- Rack Height: Verify the required rack U height (rack unit / RU) of the server or accessory matches the available space in the rack.
- Rack Dimensions: Ensure the width and depth of the rack can accommodate the server and accessories. Common depths are 24", 30", and 42".
- Weight Capacity: Ensure the rack and mounting accessories can support the server’s weight.
2. Server Compatibility Filters
RackSolutions offers a wide range of server rails, racks, shelves, and more for Dell, HP, and IBM/Lenovo servers. To find products compatible with your server, visit our Server Compatibility List on our website.
Using the COMPATIBILITY filter on the left side of the page, you can easily narrow down your options. For example, if you're looking for rack rails for a specific server, simply select the brand (Dell, HP, Lenovo, or Universal). This will display all the supported server models. Click on your server model, and you'll see a list of compatible RackSolutions rails. This process is quick and easy, ensuring you find the right fit for your setup.
Another way to search for your device’s compatibility with our product is to check the product page itself. In the “Additional Information” tab, we included the model number that is compatible with the product you are viewing.
For example, the 1U Raven 100-A Rail for HP is compatible with the HP DL320 Gen 8.
3. Accessory Compatibility
- Cable Management: Check if the server rack supports cable organizers (horizontal/vertical cable managers).
- Airflow and Cooling: Verify if additional fans, airflow ducts, or blanking panels are needed.
- Power Distribution: Ensure the power distribution unit (PDU) fits within the rack and has sufficient outlets for the servers.
- Rack Accessories Dimensions: Rack accessories should fit and support your IT equipment. Accessories include KVM Switches, Monitor Mounts, Blanking Panels, Airflow and Cooling, Converters and Adapters, Cable Management, Power Strips and PDUs, Drawers and Boxes.
4. Power & Connectivity
- Power Requirements: Verify the server’s power supply type (standard outlet, high-voltage).
- Networking Needs: Ensure that there is enough space for patch panels and switches, confirm if they align with the rack’s mounting options.
5. Compatibility Guides
To learn more about the server specifications and compatible mounting equipment for your server, you can check out our rail guides on the blog. All of our rail guides include direct links to mounting products that are compatible with the servers and information about dimensional limitations. Mounting products include slide rails, universal rails, standard EIA 19 inch racks, rack shelves, cable management, adapters, and a universal rack-to-tower conversion kit.

BTO Agreements: Customer Form
For Build-to-Order (BTO), here is the Special Product Agreement Form. The BTO Agreement Form outlines the terms and conditions for custom-built products that are manufactured based on customer specifications. This agreement represents the complete understanding of the parties.
Once the form is completed, ensure you select "Print" and then choose "Save as PDF" in the print preview. This process locks in your changes and prevents the document from being modified when sent to the recipient. If you only download the form without printing it as a PDF, the recipient may still be able to alter the content.
